Changing Firefox address bar search to Google

January 6th, 2013 · No Comments

As far as I remember Google is the default address bar search. But sometimes a software you install, changes this value without your consent or by mistake (to Conduit, or whatever).

To switch back to the good old Google do the following:

  1. Open firefox
  2. Type about:config in the address bar and hit the Enter key (If you receive  a warning message, confirm to continue)
  3. In the search bar that will appear type keyword:url
  4. One value will appear, double click on it.
  5. A pop up box will appear with a URL (internet address) of some type. Change whatever is there to- http://www.google.com/search?&q=
  6. click ok

and that’s it.
