Removing or Peeling off stamps from an envelope

January 10th, 2011 · No Comments

I’ve been collecting stamps since I can remember….but only now I’ve come to discover this new method of peeling them off an envelope. Until now I would just put them on a few drops of tap water. Problem is , this process is slow, and by the time the water penetrates to the glue area, the stamp gets wet as well.
Here is a method I think does the job of peeling stamps the easiest and driest way. What you need are a pan, a few drops of water and that’s about it.

You pour a few drops of water on a warm pan, and then place the stamp on it. In a few seconds the water drops boil, and the steam just penetrates through the paper and separates the stamps real quick.
This method keeps the stamps relatively dry, cause the steaming is made short for only a few seconds.
