I’ve been noticing my new HD been relatively quiet than I remembered. After a while I got to a conclusion that the installed radio app causes speaker and ring volume to drop drastically.
Anyway, to fix the problem and get the volume back to normal, RESTART phone, that fixes the problem on android 2.2 phones.

Android upgrade to version 2.3 fixes this problem
Recommended apps for the HTC:
- Miren browser – after testing Opera (good but no zoom?!) , Firefox and Dolphin, and of course the default browser, I chose the Miren. It’s the most convenient, got a good home screen, Tabs and all you need.
- Music mate (by Hades Lab) – A good Mp3 search engine that lets you locate MP3 files, and preview them before download.
- Color Note (Social & Mobile Inc.)- is a useful app that allows you to write notes. You can set different color to each note and by that sort them into categories. Just remembered something and need to write it down? Color note is for you.
- Tango is a video chat software , lets you video chat with friends.
- Other nice apps that can be handy: DropBox, Youtube and Google Talk
